Lamborghini Egoista Concept

Spectacular supercar called Lamborghini Egoista has been designed by Walter De Silva, the Head of Design for Volkswagen Group, to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary. As Italian, De Silva feels pretty attached to Italian brand, therefore, he wanted to pay homage to and highlight the fact that Lamborghini cars have always been made with pure passion. If you take a look at Egoista, you'll notice a jaw dropping car which is forged from a passion for innovation and solution, the same principle used that set Lamborghini apart from other automakers.

Be selfish and enjoy this sophisticated vehicle alone, this car has only one seat, so you don't have to share with other people. De Silva explained that this car was made for one person only, so that they can have fun and express their own personality to the maximum. Dedicated for hyper-sophisticated people who constantly looking for extreme and special things in the world, it's the next level of hedonism , a car without compromise because it's so selfish (egoista).

The debut of this concept supercar was pretty spectacular, cinematic entry combined with 9 big screens in the room. Powered by 5.2-liter V10 engine, the car roared and shaked the 20-meter tensioned event structure. The cockpit features futuristic appearance, and once again inspired by the world of aviation, it can be ejected in an emergency situation.

The upper part of the vehicle does not have aerodynamic appendages, but rather flaps integrated in the bodywork profile which acts automatically depending on the driving conditions. Two rear flaps activate automatically at high speeds to increase stability, while a series of air intakes on the back of the engine hood provides the cooling air flow to the powerful V10 power plant. While the front of the vehicle has a profile intended to increase downforce, the rear is fully open with the mechanics in view, reducing weight but also with the result of creating a more aggressive look.

The exterior is characterized by two fundamental aspects: its architecture, and the materials used. The design is determined by a highly muscular structure, in which empty and solid areas fit together with strength and vigor. The bodywork is dominated, on its sides, by the stylized profile of a bull preparing to charge, its horns lowered. The bull is driving towards the front wheels, conferring a futuristic dynamism and lines which are already, in themselves, highly aggressive. Naturally, this is a homage, a bold stylistic citation which can only be a reworking of the Lamborghini brand icon, the well-known raging bull. The challenge of efficiently inserting the Lamborghini symbol as an integral part of the bodywork was met courageously and artistically. The plan view reveals a trimaran profile, where the central hull forms a unique section with the cockpit, underlined by the carbon-fiber cover on the front hood.

The cockpit's interior is extremely rational, its functionality taken to the extreme. There is a racing seat with a four-point seatbelt, each strip a different color, the airbags, and the bare minimum of instruments. The focal point of these is a head-up display, typical of jet fighters. To get out of the vehicle, the driver must remove the steering wheel and rest it on the dashboard, open the dome with an electronic command, stand up in their seat, sit down on a precise point of the left-hand bodywork, then swivel their legs 180 degrees from the inside of the cockpit to the outside of the vehicle. At this point they can set their feet down and stand up. Even in getting out of the vehicle, the Lamborghini Egoista requires a pilot more than a driver, a real top gun.

Nivach Electric Racing Motorcycle

Nivach concept electric motorbike has been designed with intention to develop a new eco-friendly electric vehicle with replaceable power supply. This motorbike features bold design language inspired by street fighters, racing bikes and American muscle cars from 60's, and still this motorbike looks futuristic and unique, but recognizable.

The main goal of this project is to come up with a concept vehicle that features replaceable batteries, it will certainly reduce the cost of production and repair. This also means you can recharge your motorbike in 10 minutes, simply by replacing discharged batteries with "fresh" ones.

ZIPcycle

Too intriguing not to post...

ZIPcycle is the next evolution of the bicycle, aerodynamically optimized for less exertion & higher cruising speeds. In short, the rider gets more output with less input! The position of the rider is streamlined & elements are enclosed with fairings to greatly reduce drag; so much so that about 40% less energy is required to maintain a cruising speed of 20MPH (double the average commuting speed). The ergonomic riding stance also reduces handlebar strain & seat pressure… all this & riders still get an open-air experience!

ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

-Monocoque aluminum chassis;

-Linked steering mechanism, connecting the handlebar to the steering tube and front wheel fork (a mechanism found in underseat steering recumbent bicycles)

-Hub shifting in the rear wheel to accommodate the necessary gearing range

-Lubricated bearings, gears, and chains enclosed within the chassis in an internal driveshaft beam (so you will never again get grease on your clothes)

-Hollow tail-box, accessible by tilting the ventilated seat forward, spacious enough for a medium sized bag

-Option for an in-hub motor an lithium ion battery pack to provide hill and acceleration assist functions for cyclists in hilly and mountainous regions

This new Porsche 822 Compact is designed by Emeric Baubant from the Porsche Design Studio in Austria. The young student designer presents now the result of four months work. This compact car, rear engine, four real seats, flat 4 engine, biturbo is designed to be a close rival to the BMW 1M Series or Audi RS3, This work follows the car design process in order to conceive a credible new Porsche concept car combines sober style and advance clever details. Citroën DS Concept

The Citroën DS BiRotor is a hybrid concept that merges aerodynamic coupe styling with 4-door hatchback versatility to form the sportiest Citroën compact yet. It uses the latest in internal combustion and electric power for optimal fuel efficiency and immediate implementation to the current infrastructure. All that squeezed into a superlight carbon and aluminum modular chassis for optimal weight, rigidity and safety.

As for the tires, the Michelin Variable Response is designed to provide both perfect grip and fuel economy. The VR consists primarily of two carbon fiber covers pressed against each other holding the tire in place. The tire is made from a soft colored rubber and black vulcanized harder rubber surrounding it. The wheel features a servo motor that varies the width of the tire depending on weather conditions and driving demands. It works by expanding the rubber and shifting the gaps to direct water more efficiently. When the ground is dry, the tire closes to become flatter, bigger and harder, improving fuel economy .It will also respond to sudden and violent maneuvers in order to increase stability. The carbon covers keep weight low and allow the wheel to have a bigger diameter to cover larger distance with each rotation.

The power train is one-of-a-kind. It features a 600cc Wankel engine that produces 140hp mounted over the rear axle and connected to the rear wheels via CVT transmission. It also features two 30hp electric in-wheel motors at the front to improve performance and fuel economy. These are powered by a bank of supercapacitors that are recharged constantly by the engine. The onboard computer manages the power delivery according to the driver's demands, being able to function as a fully electric vehicle without the need of batteries or recharging. The typical disadvantage of the Wankel engine, such as lower pressure and oil consumption are rectified by the use of a turbocharger, organic biodegradable oil and hydrogen-on-demand system. The latter uses a water tank and stainless steel plates to generate hydrogen gas and injects it into the engine to improve combustion and lower emissions.
